Such great subjects for black and white. I love the vertical nature of both photos. The building soars.

I can almost hear "Jane take a letter" from the Canada Permanent Trust Building photo. You've captured the feel of a 1960's office building, (not Mad Men).

The sculptures look beautiful in the composition you've captured. You're starting to make me feel like I need to move back to Toronto!

I love that you grabbed the vertical nature of the two pictures I chose - one in the morning on the way to work, and one later, in the afternoon. I didn't even think of that.

Ha, yeah, I always look at these old buildings and try to travel back in time in my imagination. So if I keep doing this... ? Would be GREAT to have you here! (Even to visit.)

Love the black and white. The Canada Permanent Trust Building is very like a building in Sydney. When I saw it I thought : "What's Jen doing in Sydney?" Such a great shot!

cove and dome and hole Man-made cove, Queens Quay, Toronto A construction site, Adelaide Street, Toronto I took the second photo first today. This morning - when mud seemed to be defining the day. That kind of thing changes after dark.

ethel merman, bay street suits and other layers The other night I’m walking down Adelaide Street toward home and can hear bits of song in a woman’s voice hurling through the air in pieces. On advancing a half a block it’s clear to me it’s the wild-eyed but otherwise attractive, middle-aged woman standing in the middle of the sidewalk ahead. She’s looking back in the direction I’m coming from, waving her hand toward the bank towers and the new Trump hotel in that kind of drunken-like joy you’d see in schmaltzy old musicals. “I love this towwwwnnnn!” she bellows in her best Ethel Merman. Her voice sounds pretty...
